Abstract
In this study, the hydrogeological and geological conditions of ground water storage reservoirs in margin of Gharehchay River were considered in determining appropriate locations of aquifer layers by interpreting geophysical measurements. The water table in the margin and along with Gharehchay River is semi-deep and deep. Sediment’s diameter decrease and conductivity of solutions increase when we go far away from the river, toward the North. The appropriate zones for forming groundwater reservoirs with thickness of 50 to over 60 m were specified based on the geoelectric mapping. The sediment layer depth reduces when go toward Northern and Southern highlands. In these zones aquifer thickness is less than 20 meters.
